I worked in the cafe in 1984. I learned alot and I still love to cook and be in the kitchen. I credit my love of cooking to my southern heritage and my time in the cafe. I loved it and would not trade it for anything.

I worked at the cafe with MS. Cox and Ms, Ellis, it took quite awhile to adjust to the food. I was not used to instant food, when I grew up having everything homemade

I worked in the cafeteria with Mr. Brooks (1964-65). Brenda Reaves and I would dutifully show up at 6 am to prep breakfast (YUCKY powdered eggs), serve on the line and wash dishes. I remember Barry Black reciting poetry while he washed pots and pans (something I don't think he ever enjoyed). We had a great time that year although I am certain I didn't earn $50 the entire time!

I worked in the cafeteria for four years (1959-1963) under Mrs. Hartie and my first responsibility was to ring the rising bell at 6:00 AM so everybody would be up and on time for breakfast. (I don't think any adult in those days "cared" about chlid labor laws. Taught me a work ethic that I carry to this day. We washed greens, picked beans and definitely washed dishes - three times a day. I can still recite the weekly menu. A good time was had by all.

I had fun most of the time but i always wanted to leave from behind that counter and eat with my friends.Working then gave me my great work ethics that I still carry with me today, and I will never 4get how hot the steam was washing tha trays and pots and pans.

I loved working in the cafe when I was at PFA. We had the most fun, especially as part of the clean up crew for the parties. Rosemary Denby, Michael Gass, and Jethro Mason are just a few of the pepole I worked with. Remember the sticky buns and hot rolls Robin used to make? Mrs. Cox keep eveyone on task but she was one of the kindest people I ever met. I learned a lot working there.

I worked for Ms. Thomas. She used to pull things out the oven with her bare hands

I loved helping out in the Cafe with Mr. Beck aka Uncle Henry and Mrs. Thomas from 1994-1997 all four years, some of the best memories in the cafeteria. Class of 1997

Like many others, I worked in the Cafe with Ms. Cox and Ms. Ellis. I started working on the line but soon became Ms. Cox's secretary. Working in the cafe was fun and had its own set of privileges. I will be glad when they build a new freestanding cafeteria. Who remembers when we used the present cafe for worship before they built the church? No more sneaking up stairs between Sabbath School and Church Service.
